I think everyone can agree that trying to read up on tasks can be a pain when a lot of people are talking in global chat. It would be great if you had chat channels. I don't know the name of this plugin, but I know one exists somewhere.... I'll try to find it if no one knows it off the top of their heads. When you enter a channel, you only see chat in THAT channel, so no more global if you don't want global.
How to get into the channel:

/chat [CHANNELNAME] (/c;/chat)
[L] Local -- Anyone within 500 blocks
[G] Global -- Everyone
[F] Faction -- Faction only
[P] Party -- Party only
